단위 테스트(unit testing)는 소프트웨어의 개별 부분을 하나씩 따로 시험하는 테스트다.[1][2] ISTQB 용어집은 단위 테스트를 따로 떼어 시험할 수 있는 가장 작은 코드 부분을 평가하는 데 초점을 둔 테스트 레벨로 정의한다.[1]
컴포넌트 테스트
컴포넌트 테스트(component testing)는 개별 하드웨어나 소프트웨어 컴포넌트를 시험하는 데 초점을 둔다.[2][3] ISTQB CTFL 강의계획서는 컴포넌트 테스트를 단위 테스트라고도 부른다.[4] ISTQB 용어집은 두 용어를 정의가 다른 별개의 항목으로 두고, 컴포넌트 테스트의 동의어로는 module testing만 둔다.[1][3]
대상과 수행 주체
CTFL 강의계획서에 따르면 컴포넌트 테스트는 컴포넌트를 따로 떼어 시험하며, 보통 개발자가 자기 개발 환경에서 수행한다.[4] 따로 떼어 실행하는 데 쓰는 드라이버와 스텁은 테스트 하네스에서 다룬다.
ASPICE SWE.4
ASPICE 4.1의 SWE.4 Software Unit Verification은 소프트웨어 유닛이 소프트웨어 상세 설계와 일관됨을 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이 모델은 유닛 검증 수단의 예로 단위 테스트뿐 아니라 정적 분석과 코드 리뷰도 든다.[5] 프로세스 이름은 ASPICE 3.1과 같다.[5][6] 유닛의 정의는 ASPICE 프로세스 참조 모델에서 다룬다.
